Final week! Thank you so much for supporting our farm this year. It felt much more orderly on the farm this season, our first season with nothing planted in Olympia. I am hoping to send out a survey in the next few weeks. I know they are kind of annoying, but I will keep it short and would really value your feedback.
I am excited we have some radicchio for you this week. I know it can be a bit bitter for some people, while other people love it. We have a few varieties planted this year and you are getting the first one to mature. I myself am sometimes on the fence about it, but when it is prepared well, it can be delicious. One of the best things I ate last year was at a farmer potluck Our friend Joseph from Wobbly Cart Farm brought a radicchio salad with roasted cipollini onions, pears tossed in lemon juice, toasted walnuts and goat cheese. It was lightly dressed with olive oil and lemon juice.
I want to thank Erin, who packed and delivered your CSA each week both this year and last year. Erin is most likely moving on to a different job after spending three years with us and we wish them the very, very best. They have contributed so much to our success and spent a lot of time helping us get our new farm set up during the past two winters.
We will be at the Chehalis Market until the end of October on Tuesdays. If you find yourself down south on a Tuesday, please stop by and say hi.
